Under construction...

By that I mean that the bands are under construction, so there's nothing really useful to put here yet.

There are some links on the 'Links' page for the moment.

Alternatively, I'll use this opportunity to fill up the page with a few notes about my bass gear...

This is my standard bass rig that I use for most of my gigs. The Ashdown cabs are the mini48 and the mini115 which are rated at 600W and 300W respectively. Although they're small, they can really chuck out the sound, and the 15" gives plenty of low end while the 4x8 provides all of the punch!

My main bass is a Warwick Thumb 6-string thru-neck which is incredibly versatile tonally, and plays like a dream! The 36" scale length means that you sometimes have to 'lean into it' to get to the lower frets, but it really helps the low B to rumble. The Thumb growls like no other bass can, and the onboard EQ allows a huge variety of tones to be found. I can't rate this bass highly enough!

I've just ordered a Cort Curbow as a second bass for health reasons. I've recently damaged my left arm and I need something lighter than the Thumb and with a shorter scale length to be using while I heal properly. I'll post my views on this bass when it arrives!

My rack top to bottom:

1 Furman power conditioner - because most venues have the sort of mains wiring that should be condemned!

2 Sennheiser wireless - Ok, it's expensive, but it's one of the best on the market. Beats the hell out of Shure and Trantec etc..

3 Line 6 POD XT pro - Full of weird noises that are sometimes useful..

4 Aphex Aural Exciter C104 - This is my main source of compression for live use, and really helps to give the sound some punch.

5 600W digital amplifier - See my projects page for more info! <Click HERE>

Other gear I have available includes:

1 ART SGX Nightbass preamp - An old preamp from the early 90's that still gets used for recordings sometimes

2 Ibanez fretless bass - I wish I could play this properly..

3 Aria acoustic bass - good for busking and those acoustic gigs

4 Korg rackmount tuner - If I had space in my rack, I'd use this more!

5 Another Ashdown mini48 - in case I ever damage the main one

6 Carlsbro Delta Bass rig - 300W, 1x15 and 1x15/1x8+horn - Too big and heavy to get used much, but useful as a spare!

So essentially, I'm a bit of a gear-junkie, and I now need a bigger house to keep it all in!
